Another successful spear fish outing. This time I was lucky enough to spear one of the most beautiful fish in the ocean, the giant hawkfish. The one I speared was actually a medium hawkfish, about a foot long, but he was swimming next to a true behemoth, a hawkfish that was over two feet long and probably 20 pounds, most likely the world record. I opted for the smaller of the two, not because it was the right thing to do, but because I was truly scared he would turn me into his own personal Ahab and drag me to the bottom of the sea to devour me limb by limb. A great white whale he nearly was.
