The day has finally arrived!  After all the planning, scrimping and saving.  After all the meticulous boat research, shopping, and survey work.  After the grueling 3 months of boat projects in the 100 degree sun and 99% humidity.  After some (although not quite enough) shake down sails, food provisioning and final showers and laundry.  We are ready and more importantly, Selkie is ready.

We plan to head north from San Carlos along the mainland coast up to Bahia Kino and Isla Tiburon. From here we’ll turn west and island hop through the Midriffs until we reach Bahia de Los Angeles on the Baja peninsula.

They’re calling for northerly winds this next week, so we may be doing more motoring than we would have liked, but we don’t want to miss out on the Northern Sea this fall.

We plan to take about two weeks to make this journey to the Bay of LA, which will be our next opportunity for internet access, so we’ll let you know when we arrive. In the meantime, we’ve got a few posts on backlog that we’ll trickle out, but don’t expect any responses to the comments for awhile.

Wish us luck!

Below is our planned route via Google Maps.  Our email followers will have to visit the website to check it out.
